Wine estate
Château de Villeneuve, located in Souzay-Champigny on a limestone hill above the Loire, has a winemaking tradition dating back to the 16th century. Since 1969, it has been run by the Chevallier family, today by Jean-Pierre and his daughters Cécile and Caroline.
The estate comprises around 5 hectares of Chenin Blanc for Saumur Blanc and 20 hectares of Cabernet Franc for Saumur-Champigny. Since 2010, it has been fully certified organic, with manual harvesting, soil cultivation, and respect for biodiversity.
The wines are aged in large 400–500-litre barrels in underground tuffeau cellars, where constant temperatures ensure optimal maturation.
Château de Villeneuve is known for its elegant, fresh, and pure Loire wines, combining finesse with excellent value for pleasure.
