Wine estate
Domaine Esmonin is deeply rooted in Gevrey-Chambertin, with a history dating back to the 1950s, when Sylvie’s grandfather acquired part of the prestigious Clos Saint-Jacques. This iconic plot, literally bordering the estate, is now at the heart of its production.
Under the leadership of Sylvie Esmonin, trained in Dijon as an oenologist and agricultural engineer and active since the 1990 harvest, the domaine is firmly committed to quality. With just over 8 hectares, the focus is almost entirely on Gevrey-Chambertin, with Clos Saint-Jacques as its absolute jewel.
Sylvie’s wines combine finesse with structure and are partly fermented with whole clusters, adding extra energy and complexity. These are wines made for ageing, revealing their true character only after several years.
