Poderi Parpinello

In the early 1950s, grandfather Luigi, originally from the northern region of Veneto, shared his passion for wine with his son Giampaolo, who went on to study at the Scuola Enologica di Conegliano.

In 1964, Giampaolo moved to Sardinia for his first job as a winemaker. There, he gained extensive professional experience at several Sardinian wineries.

During this period, he passed on his father’s love of wine and vineyards to his children. In 1990, he purchased the first hectares of vineyard in the Lago di Baratz area near Alghero, which would form the foundation of the Podere San Costantino winery.

In the years that followed, the whole family became involved in the Janna de Mare, or “Door of the Sea”, project, starting with the purchase of 20 hectares of land between Alghero and Sassari.

Giampaolo’s retirement marked a turning point: he decided to establish a true family winery on the land near Alghero that he had purchased in the early 1960s.

He is supported by his children, especially Paolo, Laura, and Giusi, who represent the third generation. Poderi Parpinello, founded in 2009, can therefore already count three generations of winemakers.
